Boys day out

They have been hanging out together at Cub Scout meetings, but yesterday they went on a boys day. They were nice enough to invite us but the girls had to pass on fishing. We know from experience that they stay out way to long.
"E" was so excited to "go fishing with daddy!"

I left to a coffee before they got home but I got to hear about the "super happy" time they had. Plus they did catch fish. Then I saw the proof.
It is roughly the size of the skateboard on his shirt.

Look at that form! I mean I think it's good form. The only problem is, I am not really sure what good form is.

They stayed late and came home having had the best time.

I love that he is barefoot on the beach with "a grown up fishing pole" having a great time catching tiny fish with his dad. I hope he remembers that stuff forever.
Although when he retells the story I am sure the fish will be gigantic!

Updates on our goings on

Our family did another 5k last weekend. It raised money for the Special Olympics. If you don't know we are HUGE fans of the Special Olympics. So much so that my kids will wake up at 6 a.m. on a Saturday and run around 3 miles.
So my youngest girl wasn't feeling well, and wanted to walk it. I being the wonderful mother I am offered to walk it with her instead of running. I know your thinking "WOW, you sacrifice so much for your kids." Oh yes all the things we give up as mothers. ha!
We did walk it and we ran some (down hill) we made it in at 44 min. Respectable for a sick kid and an out of shape me.
My oldest ran it in 30 the other walked and ran it in 40 min. I think. My six year old ran almost the whole time but they have little legs so that is a lot of running. It was fun, and they raised a lot of money.
Dino is training for a marathon. He was off running earlier that morning. He ran and met us on Kadena to do the fun run. Then we dropped him off on Torii and he ran home. He ran 16 miles that day. Geez. Makes my 44 min 5k sort of embarrassing.
This is where I stop way ahead and when he caught up we make sure he is alive.

My oldest is in 8th grade and loving it. One of the great things about her school is the music. She is in strings and learning to play the violin! Isn't that the coolest. I tortured my parents with the clarinet back in the day. I remember wanting the flute so bad.
So she is now torturing us with the violin. I love it! I hope to recognize a song sometime soon. We will post a video one of these days and torture you too.

The other kids are enjoying school and I will send updates on them.
We are having a great year so far! How are all of you doing?

What do you do all day?

I get that question a lot when people find out I don't work. PLUS my kids are all in school. So just because I thought it was funny this is what i did today.
6 ish- woke up/ showered/ coffee
7:30 walked kids to school it takes 2 min.
7:30-10:00- made copies and laminated for 1st grade class. LOTS OF COPIES
10:30-1:00- Went scuba diving off sea wall with husband who is off today.
1:20- showered
1:40- picked up kids, finish cutting laminated stuff in class.
2:00-4:00- homework help and email checking
4:00-5:00- Dinner, then open house for my two middle school girls. (that is next)

So what do I do all day. hmm what ever I want! (-: Till you know it's 1:40 then it is all about the kids.
It is a deal I cannot keep forever but for now I am loving it.
I mean come on I went diving while they were in school and helped in his class. Good times.
So pack your bags and come to Okinawa. You know you want to....

No picture today. We didn't take the camera and just enjoyed the dive.
